Lanier had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 17-run drubbing they dealt Gainesville on Tuesday. The Longhorns were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over the Red Elephants. The contest marked the Longhorns' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Lanier got a massive performance out of Sophia Roche, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most runs Roche has posted since back in August of 2024. Sophia Baessler was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Lanier hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 4-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Lanier's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Gainesville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3.
