The Mid Valley Spartans won the last time they faced the Holy Cross Crusaders, and things went their way on Friday too. Mid Valley walked away with a 49-38 win over the Crusaders. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mid Valley.
Mid Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Krista Cortazar, who scored nine points along with six steals. Cortazar is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Chiara Zavislak, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Mid Valley has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Holy Cross, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Mid Valley will head out on the road to square off against the Foresters at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Forest City comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Holy Cross does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
