The West Vikings will take on the Yucca Valley Trojans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
West unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They were beaten by Tehachapi 71-19. West was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-13.
West's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Mikayla Villalobos, who scored 12 points, and Caleigh Adams who scored seven points. That was a full 36.8% of West's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, West struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
In what's become a running theme this season, Yucca Valley gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Coachella Valley 66-29 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Yucca Valley has posted against Coachella Valley since December 20, 2019.
West's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7. As for Yucca Valley, their victory was their 15th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-4.
