Given Encinal's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 377th, while Berkeley is ranked 891st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
St. Joseph Notre Dame has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for Encinal, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
