The Magnolia Sentinels will be playing at home against the Western Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Tuesday, Magnolia had to suffer through a rough 75-34 loss at the hands of the Colonists. While losing is never fun, Magnolia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 627th, while the Colonists are ranked 114th).
Meanwhile, Western took a serious blow against the Rebels on Tuesday, falling 77-19. Western has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Magnolia dropped their record down to 14-9 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 18-6 Savanna (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 67.3% over those games). As for Western, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Magnolia came up short against the Pioneers when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 49-43. Will Magnolia have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
