The Serra Cavaliers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 24 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat South Gate 59-8 on the road. That 59-8 margin sets a new team best for Serra this season.
Serra's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jadah Foster led the charge by scoring 11 points along with five assists and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Kaylah Holmes, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Serra is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. As for South Gate, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Serra and Bravo will face off at 4:00 p.m. on December 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Victoria Rodriguez and Kaicia Snelson. South Gate will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Huntington Park at 5:00 p.m. on January 8, 2024.
