The Apple Valley Sun Devils will face off against the Littlerock Lobos at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Apple Valley's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups.
If Apple Valley beats Littlerock with ten runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Apple Valley walked away with a 10-5 victory over Victor Valley on Monday.
Oscar Lima looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Seth Robertson was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Reveron, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3.
Apple Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Victor Valley only posted an OBP of .367.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Littlerock). Everything went their way against Silver Valley on Friday as Littlerock made off with a 14-3 win. The Lobos haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Saul Orozco Jr. made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). Orozco Jr. was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Adan Herrera was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Sebastian Gon?alez was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
Apple Valley's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Littlerock, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Apple Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. However, it's not like Littlerock struggles in that department as they've averaged .393. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Apple Valley's way against Littlerock when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Apple Valley made off with a 16-1 win. Does Apple Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Littlerock turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
