The Willow Glen Rams won the last time they faced the Santa Teresa Saints, and things went their way on Thursday too. Willow Glen had just enough and edged the Saints out 53-51.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Willow Glen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Natalia Valerio, who went 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Valerio has scored all season. Jessie Okumura was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five steals.
Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kayden Reynolds, who scored 15 points. It was the first time this season that Reynolds scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dahlia Daboul, who scored 11 points.
Willow Glen is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Santa Teresa, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Willow Glen will challenge the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Santa Teresa, they will head out on the road to square off against the Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
