West Branch suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They were outmatched by Williamsburg at home and fell 56-28. While losing is never fun, West Branch can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 458th, while Williamsburg is ranked 108th).
Juniata Valley posted their biggest win yet this season on Monday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 56-13 win over Curwensville. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Juniata Valley.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Juniata Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kassidy Watson, who scored 15 points. Maddie Hopsicker was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
West Branch now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Juniata Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.
West Branch didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Juniata Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 52-47 win.
