Baseball Recap: Mira Monte Takes a Loss

Mira Monte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the Foothill Trojans, falling 12-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-2 last Tuesday.

Mira Monte saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hudson Weatherly, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Weatherly has become a key player for the Lions: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-8 otherwise. Ethan Velasquez was another, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Mira Monte's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Foothill, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mira Monte will take on Golden Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Foothill, they will face off against Chavez at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Titans will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight.
