The Juniata Indians won the last time they faced the Newport Buffaloes, and things went their way on Monday too. Juniata came out on top against Newport by a score of 33-23. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Juniata.
Juniata got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mariska Beward out in front who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Regan Lowrey, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Juniata's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Newport, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
Juniata does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newport, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Halifax at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th.
