New Hope came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against Itawamba Agricultural, but Calon Shumpert wouldn't allow it. The Indians came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 65-58 on Thursday thanks in part to Shumpert, who went 9-for-14 to rack up 23 points and six boards. The game was his third in a row with at least 16 points.

Malakii Casimier was another key player, putting up 11 points and six rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 53.3% field goal percentage.

The win made it two in a row for Itawamba Agricultural and bumps their season record up to 3-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points over those games. As for New Hope, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Itawamba Agricultural didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-27 loss against Jasper on the 22nd. As for New Hope, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Booneville at 7:30 p.m. on December 2.
