The Albany Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Piedmont Highlanders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Albany nor Piedmont posted many goals in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.
Thursday just wasn't the day for Albany's offense. They fell just short of Saint Mary's by a score of 1-0. Albany has struggled against Saint Mary's recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Piedmont's last game on Friday was all defense as neither team scored a goal. They and Berkeley finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw. The result kept Piedmont happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 18th.
Albany's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. Piedmont's draw gives them a new season record of 11-3-2.
Albany might still be hurting after the 4-1 defeat they got from Piedmont when the teams last played back in February of 2015. Can Albany avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
