Etna is 2-8 against Fall River since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Etna Lions will be playing at home against the Fall River Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Etna will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 835th, while Fall River is ranked 398th).
Etna suffered their biggest defeat since December 2, 2023 on Tuesday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (54-32), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.
Meanwhile, Fall River put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They blew past Weed 64-29 at home. The victory was nothing new for Fall River as they're now sitting on four straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fall River to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mylah Darnell, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Darnell has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Reese Cassity, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Etna has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Fall River, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
Etna suffered a grim 58-37 defeat to Fall River when the teams last played back in February of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Etna was down 40-15.
