Luis Valdez Leadership Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 46-16 victory over Cindy Avitia on the road. That 30 points margin sets a new team best for Luis Valdez Leadership Academy this season.
Luis Valdez Leadership Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Andrea Mata Alejo led the charge by scoring eight points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Valeria Ruiz, who scored six points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, ACE Charter couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit 72-7 last Thursday.
Luis Valdez Leadership Academy's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-4. As for ACE Charter, their loss was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1.
