The Watsonville Wildcatz's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 53-34 fall against Alisal. Watsonville has not had much luck with Alisal recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Watsonville got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Stephanie Martinez and
Fernanda Lazo, who each put up eight points. Lazo also led the team in rebounds with seven.
Lesly Rodriguez trevi?o continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Alisal, scoring 31 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rodriguez trevi?o has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nayeli Gil-silva, who scored eight points.
Watsonville has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Alisal, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 14-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Watsonville will challenge Everett Alvarez at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Everett Alvarez is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Alisal, they will head out on the road to face off against Hollister at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hollister will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
