Football Game Preview: Cibola Raiders vs. Gila Ridge Hawks + Official Tickets

The Cibola Raiders will head out to face off against the Gila Ridge Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Cibola made easy work of Kofa and carried off a 41-19 victory. Considering the Raiders have won four contests by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Marques Montague produced another solid effort rushing for 100 yards and two TDs on only ten carries, while also picking up 46 receiving yards. Damian Camarillo was another key player, picking up 78 receiving yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cibola was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 253 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 160 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

Cibola's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. The heavy lifting was done by Daniel Saenz and Mark Paredes, who racked up all four sacks between them. Paredes has been hot recently, having posted at least one sack the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, Gila Ridge entered their tilt with Sierra Linda on Friday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They enjoyed a cozy 33-18 win over the Bulldogs.

Cibola better keep an eye on Prentes Boxx lll. He was instrumental in Gila Ridge's win, rushing for 229 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per carry. Boxx lll showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 53 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Soliz, who threw for 139 yards and three TDs.

Cibola's record is now 6-2. As for Gila Ridge, their record now sits at 8-1.

Cibola ended up a good deal behind Gila Ridge in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, losing 29-14. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Hawks' Kanai Hongo, who rushed for 139 yards and a pair of scores.
