Chamblee managed to slip by Decatur the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Chamblee came up short against Decatur on Thursday, falling 17-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Chamblee has suffered against Decatur since March 14, 2022.

Leo Waasdorp was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Chamblee's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 5-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Sammy Heetderks, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, everything went Arabia Mountain's way against Tri-Cities on Thursday as Arabia Mountain made off with a 15-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won three matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Bryce Willingham made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Benjamin Rentz and Landen Wood did most of the damage at the plate: Rentz scored four runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Wood scored three runs and stole Five bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those four runs gave Rentz a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alphonso Osborne Jr, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-5.
Arabia Mountain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The win made it two in a row for Arabia Mountain and bumps their season record up to 3-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Chamblee, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
Chamblee took their victory against Arabia Mountain in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chamblee since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
