Reavis is 8-2 against Evergreen Park since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Rams will square off against the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Reavis' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Evergreen Park's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Reavis is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Oak Lawn just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Sunday. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Rams, who until this contest were averaging 4.08 runs allowed.
Reavis got a good showing from Juan Avila, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Avila has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Parker Zasada was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Anthony Perez, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Evergreen Park entered their tilt with Bremen on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Braves by a score of 4-0.
Connor Faulkner tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
At the plate, Christian Jacobo was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Cadyn Kummer also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Evergreen Park's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Reavis, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Reavis has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Evergreen Park struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Reavis was able to grind out a solid victory over Evergreen Park when the teams last played back in April of 2025, winning 6-2. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
