Baseball Recap: South Kingstown's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

South Kingstown entered their tilt with Coventry on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Oakers 7-0. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Connor Wokoske looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jonah Monnes, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Michael DiGioia also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

South Kingstown's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Coventry, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

Coming up, South Kingstown will welcome Waterford at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rebels 2.2, the Lancers 2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Coventry, they will head out to take on Cranston East at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
