Prospect is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Lincoln is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Panthers will welcome the Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
On Thursday, Prospect made easy work of Del Mar and carried off a 17-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Dons: they've now won seven in a row.
Ethan Roth made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Roth was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kevin-Joseph Rieden, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kyle Pollace, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Prospect always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lincoln). They blew past San Jose 25-1 on Friday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.
Adriel Ceja looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits (and only one walk).
At the plate, Lincoln got a massive performance out of Ryan Bernwanger, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Graeson Wagner, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Prospect, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Prospect has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lincoln struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Prospect suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Lincoln in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
