The Hart Indians came tearing into Saturday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Orcutt Academy 74-44 on the road. Hart's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hart to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lily Cornejo, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 3 assists. That's the first time this season that Cornejo scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Morgan Mack, who scored 21 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Hart's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Orcutt Academy, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Hart will be home for the holidays to greet St. Joseph at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. St. Joseph is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Orcutt Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Garces Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on December 11th. Garces Memorial will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1175th, while Orcutt Academy is ranked 535th).
