Weed has won four straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Biggs has won four straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Cougars will host the Wolverines at 2:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Tuesday, Weed got the win against Anderson by a conclusive 11-2.
Braeden Cordes and Jett Marshall were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Cordes struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Marshall tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Weed is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-4 otherwise. At the plate, Cordes got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Marshall went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jackson Keen, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025.
Biggs came out on top against Fortuna on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run sixth inning. The Wolverines put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 13-2 victory.
Like Weed, Biggs also got a great game from a two-way player: Brayden Martin. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Martin was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, Jaiden Bandy was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Dennis Dewhurst was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Biggs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Weed now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Biggs, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Weed hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .326. However, it's not like Biggs struggles in that department as they've averaged .402. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Weed might still be hurting after the 16-6 loss they got from Biggs in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Will the Cougars have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
