The Rosemont Wolverines will take on the Cordova Lancers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rosemont is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
Rosemont will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating West Campus, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Rosemont never let West Campus get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wolverines needed considering they were shutout in their previous match.
Jack Blankenship looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Rosemont let Kylan English and Gavin Terry run wild. English scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Terry scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave Terry a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Keilan Hall, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Rosemont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Campus only managed two hits.
Meanwhile, Cordova had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Rio Americano on Saturday, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lancers have posted since March 27, 2024.
Levi Nyberg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up ten Ks.
On the hitting side, Cordova's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bro Ahlstrom, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. That run marked the first that Ahlstrom scored this season.
Rosemont's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Cordova, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3-1.
Cordova's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Rosemont has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. It's a different story for Cordova, though, as they've only averaged .299. Will they be able to contain Rosemont's hitters?
Rosemont skirted past Cordova 3-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will Rosemont repeat their success, or does Cordova have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
