Baseball Recap: Mitchell County's Losing Streak Snapped at 13 Games

Mitchell County came into Tuesday's contest having lost 13 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Randolph-Clay Red Devils by a score of 24-21 on Tuesday. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Kaden Murray, who got on base in six of his seven plate appearances with five stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Quintion McCraw was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.

Mitchell County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .661. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mitchell County's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for Randolph-Clay, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Coming up, Mitchell County will welcome Randolph-Clay at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Randolph-Clay, they will head out to square off against Calhoun County at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Randolph-Clay has given up an average of 19.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
