Granite Hills is on a 19-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while St. Augustine is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Eagles will host the Saints at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Granite Hills is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over Del Norte. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since April 9th.

Granite Hills' win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Eurijah Schutza, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Schutza a new career-high. Another was Phillip Jones, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday St. Augustine sidestepped Carlsbad for a 2-1 victory.
Grayson Boles spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
St. Augustine is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Granite Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 21-0-2.
Both Granite Hills and St. Augustine just can't seem to miss. The Eagles have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like St. Augustine struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Granite Hills' way against St. Augustine in their previous meeting back in March, as Granite Hills made off with a 10-4 win. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Saints turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
