Baseball Recap: Urban Has No Trouble Against Burton

Urban won the last time they faced Burton and things went their way on Friday too. The Blues put the hurt on the Pumas with a sharp 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Blues, who have now won four games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Will Perkins made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Declan O'Connor, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Aaron Knupp, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Urban and bumps their season record up to 6-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Burton, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Coming up, Urban will square off against Marin Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Burton, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lowell at 3:30 p.m. on April 8.
