The Caro Tigers won the last time they faced the Vassar Vulcans, and things went their way on Monday too. Caro came out on top against Vassar by a score of 34-27. Given Caro's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while Vassar is ranked 648th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Caro's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaileigh Garza, who scored 11 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Long, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Vassar lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Makenna McCloud, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Caro pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Vassar, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Caro will take on Bad Axe at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bad Axe is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. Vassar won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Laker at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th.
