Last Tuesday, Cristo Rey was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 36-31 to Western Sierra Collegiate Academy.
Meanwhile, Faith Christian stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Buckingham Charter 77-6 at home. The win was familiar territory for Faith Christian who now have six in a row.
Faith Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Lauren Harris, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds, and Presley Berry, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and 3 assists. That makes it 15 consecutive games in which Harris has scored at least a third of Faith Christian's points. Mia Bryan was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Cristo Rey now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Faith Christian, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with that victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.
Cristo Rey was taken down by Faith Christian 98-22 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Cristo Rey, Audrey Harris (who dropped a triple-double on 30 points, 12 rebounds, and ten assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
