The North Shore Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 60-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Beaumont United. North Shore has not had much luck with Beaumont United recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why North Shore lost, one person who can't be blamed is Teddious Mayes. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Mayes continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Terrence ?Tj? Alford, who scored seven points.
Beaumont United got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kayde Dotson out in front who scored 14 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Clarence Payia, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
North Shore now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Beaumont United, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-1.
North Shore will head out on the road to challenge King at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. King presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than North Shore in Texas (King is ranked 44th, while North Shore is ranked 277th). As for Beaumont United, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Kingwood at 7:00 p.m.
