The Carlsbad Lancers pushed their score all the way to 63 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Olympian 67-63. Carlsbad was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Olympian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2015.
Asia Darcuiel continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Olympian, scoring 23 points along with nine steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Darcuiel has scored at least a third of Olympian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Agpaoa, who scored 19 points.
Carlsbad has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for Olympian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.
Carlsbad will head out on the road to square off against Sage Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Sage Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday. As for Olympian, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Mater Dei Catholic at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Mater Dei Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Monday.
