Eastern had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Carroll on Monday. The Comets blew past the Cougars 9-0. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Bently Hullinger, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Tarrh, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Eastern was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win (which was Eastern's third in a row) raised their record to 18-8. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Carroll, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.

Looking ahead, Eastern will be playing in front of their home fans against Heritage Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Carroll, they will square off against Clinton Central at 5:00 p.m. on the 27th.
