The South Pasadena Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They really took it to Monrovia for the full four quarters, racking up a 121-10 win at home. South Pasadena has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 22 points or more this season.
Leading South Pasadena to victory were Dylan Tse and Kayla Boozer. Tse dropped a triple-double on 30 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals, while Boozer dropped a double-double on 50 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Boozer has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jamie Rain Kim, who scored ten points.
South Pasadena pushed their record up to 16-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.8 points per game. As for Monrovia, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
South Pasadena won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Birmingham at 4:00 p.m. on January 13th. Birmingham will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 86th, while South Pasadena is ranked 31st). As for Monrovia, they will head out on the road to challenge Temple City at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
