This season hasn't been kind to the Newport Christian Seahawks, who are still winless after their fourth contest. They took a 49-35 bruising from NOVA Academy on Thursday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead NOVA Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Valerie Lopez, who scored 24 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Lopez has scored at least 25% of NOVA Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Torres, who scored 14 points.
Newport Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for NOVA Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Newport Christian will head out on the road to face off against Avalon at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for NOVA Academy, they will be playing at home against Norco at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
