The Parkway Central Colts will head out to face off against the Northwest Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Parkway Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Parkway Central made easy work of Fox and carried off an 11-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Colts.
Marlee Williamson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Williamson was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Lewis, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Olivia Magruder, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Parkway Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Northwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against Eureka, falling 12-2. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly ten runs.
Northwest saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alli Lewellen, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Parkway Central's record now sits at 14-5. As for Northwest, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.
Parkway Central couldn't quite finish off Northwest in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can the Colts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
