The Corona Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Norco 76-35 at home. The win was some much needed relief for Corona as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Leading Corona to victory were Fia Liaga and Ava Liaga. Liaga shot 4-for-7 from long range and dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten assists, while Liaga dropped a triple-double on 21 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Liaga has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Chinazaekpere Irechukwu, who scored six points along with three steals.
Norco lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hannah Montes, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds.
Corona's win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 16-13. As for Norco, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-21 record this season.
Corona will take on Yeshiva University of Los Angeles (YULA) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Corona focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Wednesday. Norco does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
