The Green Wave fell just short of the Bulldawgs by a score of 9-8 on Friday. Even though they lost, the Green Wave's still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.1 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Audubon got a good showing from Drew Piechowski, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Piechowski has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Connor Chester was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Pilla, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three runs.
