The Etna Lions will head out on the road to take on the Weed Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Etna will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 810th, while the Cougars are ranked 184th).
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Etna, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-33 loss to the Braves. Etna has not had much luck with the Braves recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, Weed unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 41-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Trinity. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Weed has scored all season.
Etna has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. As for Weed, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-5.
Etna suffered a grim 56-35 defeat to the Cougars in their previous matchup two weeks ago. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Weed's Alayja Oliver, who scored 25 points along with four steals.
