Video: Mississippi state record 544 yards, 8 TDsState records in Mississippi and South Carolina, along with a game that featured a 493-yard passer and a 330-yard rusher highlight this week's National High School Football Stat Stars.
Jaley Adams of Kossuth (Miss.) broke the state record for rushing yards in a game as he ran for 543 yards on 27 carries with eight touchdowns in a 68-34 win over Corinth (Miss.).
Meanwhile, in South Carolina, Savion Watson of Chesterfield tied the state record for touchdown passes in a game with nine in a 61-30 win over Indian Land.
In Missouri, Parkview (Springfield) defeated Glendale (Springfield) 56-44. Anthony Riley Jr. carried 50 times for 330 yards and six touchdowns for Parkview. The nation's leading passer, Alex Huston, led Glendale with 493 yards passing and six touchdowns.
Huston went over 3,000 yards passing on the season (3,036) in six games and is averaging 506 yards per game. The national record, according to the National Federation of State High School Associations Record Book, is 436 yards per game by Ben Mauk of Kenton (Ohio), who just happens to be the offensive coordinator at Glendale.
