Softball Recap: Silver Creek Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Silver Creek, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Overland Trailblazers on Thursday as they made off with a 15-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Raptors, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Rylyn Fordham tossed a big game, striking out 13 batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Keyshia Vigil-Rabun, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abby LaCrosse, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Silver Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Overland only posted an OBP of .318.

Silver Creek's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Overland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Silver Creek will host Niwot at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Overland, they will welcome Kennedy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
