Basketball Game Preview: Neumann Regional Academy Golden Knights vs. South Williamsport Mountaineers

The Neumann Regional Academy Golden Knights will head out to challenge the South Williamsport Mountaineers at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neumann Regional Academy will be strutting in after a victory while South Williamsport will be coming in after a loss.

Neumann Regional Academy is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Bucktail: they outscored them in every quarter. Neumann Regional Academy blew past Bucktail 45-21 on Tuesday.

Neumann Regional Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kallee Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Those 14 points gave Johnson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Niyah Tutler, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

Neumann Regional Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, South Williamsport took a blow against Muncy on Tuesday, falling 51-21. The defeat continues a trend for the Mountaineers in their matchups with the Indians: they've now lost four in a row.

South Williamsport's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Neumann Regional Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.

Neumann Regional Academy skirted past South Williamsport 40-38 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Neumann Regional Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
