Parker White made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Cole Gregory and Maddox Farrell did most of the damage at the plate: Gregory went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Farrell scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Gregory a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Johnson, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Knight challenged Palmdale on Friday. The Hawks walked away with a 9-5 win over the Falcons. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.
The team relied heavily on Jordan Estrella, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He also brought in two RBI, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Nathen Esparza, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Quartz Hill pushed their record up to 6-9 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Knight, their record now sits at 5-7.
Everything went Quartz Hill's way against Knight in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Quartz Hill made off with a 9-0 victory. Will the Royals repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
