West Campus is a perfect 3-0 against Rosemont since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The West Campus Warriors will take on the Rosemont Wolverines at 11:00 a.m. West Campus knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Rosemont likes a good challenge.
West Campus had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 22-run drubbing they dealt San Juan on Friday. West Campus put the hurt on San Juan with a sharp 25-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won four in a row.
Jaymin Wise made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Wise was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, West Campus got a massive performance out of Xavier Mendoza, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Mendoza has become a key player for West Campus: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Sam Anderson, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
West Campus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Rosemont fell victim to Bear River and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 7-0 to the Bruins. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Wolverines were not able to get on the board.
Rosemont also got a good showing from Jack Blankenship, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Blankenship has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
The win got West Campus back to even at 3-3. As for Rosemont, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. West Campus has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Rosemont struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
West Campus was able to grind out a solid victory over Rosemont when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 7-2. Does West Campus have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rosemont turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
