Given Poway's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while San Marcos is ranked 365th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Katelyn Johnson was her usual excellent self, scoring 30 points. Mackenzie Parsons was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Poway is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for San Marcos, they now have a losing record at 11-12.
