Softball Recap: Brush Has No Trouble Against Rocky Ford

Brush barely beat Rocky Ford the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Beetdiggers were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Meloneers on Friday. The matchup marked the Beetdiggers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Brush let Haedynn Epple and Izabella Talmich run wild. Epple got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Talmich went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Epple has posted since back in October of 2024. Angelique Schrum also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Brush kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.

Brush's record is now 7-1. As for Rocky Ford, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Brush has already played their next contest, a 14-12 loss against Wellington on the 6th. As for Rocky Ford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 14-4 win against Platte Valley on the 6th.
