The Miramonte Matadors entered their tilt with the Mt. Diablo Red Devils with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Miramonte snuck past Mt. Diablo with a 57-52 victory on Thursday. That's another feather in the cap for Miramonte, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Miramonte's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julia Quinn Ferguson, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. It was the first time this season that Quinn Ferguson scored 15 or more points. Karena Eberts was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds.
Miramonte has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a massive bump to their 19-9 record this season. As for Mt. Diablo, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-6.
Miramonte will take on Acalanes at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Acalanes has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 869 points over their last 13 matchups. Mt. Diablo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
