The Serra Cavaliers will head out on the road to take on the Bishop Conaty-Loretto Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Tuesday, Serra suffered a tough 61-37 defeat at the hands of the Lancers. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Serra in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now lost three in a row.
Serra's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kaicia Snelson, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals, and Ryleigh Boagni who scored 12 points. Snelson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jadah Foster, who scored four points.
Meanwhile, Bishop Conaty-Loretto fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Jesters on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 37-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jesters. Bishop Conaty-Loretto has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Serra now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Bishop Conaty-Loretto, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-18.
Everything came up roses for Serra against the Wildcats in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 61-31 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Serra since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
