In what's become a running theme this season, the Anaheim Colonists gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Santa Ana Valley 65-23 on the road. The victory was nothing new for Anaheim as they're now sitting on nine straight.
Anaheim's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elise Marquez led the charge by scoring 14 points along with seven steals and five assists. Marquez hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Aleah McGregor, who scored eight points along with eight steals and five assists.
Anaheim pushed their record up to 23-1 with that victory, which was their 11th straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.91 points. As for Santa Ana Valley, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Anaheim's road trip will continue as they head out to face Western at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Western will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 995th, while Anaheim is ranked 106th). As for Santa Ana Valley, they will head out on the road to challenge Magnolia at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Magnolia and Santa Ana Valley are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
