Basketball Recap: Lincoln Skates Past Kimball with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Lincoln over Kimball in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Lincoln Trojans blew the Kimball Jaguars out of the water with a 67-30 final score. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 21 points or more this season.

Monet Dunham was the offensive standout of the game as she posted 12 points in addition to five boards and five steals. Riley Baquiran was another key player, putting up six points and four steals.

Lincoln smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Kimball lost, don't look at Olivia Otuaf. Despite the final result, she made all 5 shots she took to post 12 points. The dominant performance also gave Otuaf a new career-high in assists (two). Renee Mendez also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Lincoln pushed their record up to 18-6 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Kimball, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season.

Lincoln will head out to face off against Tracy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Lincoln's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. Kimball has already played their next game (against Dublin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
