After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rogers, North Smithfield was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Tiverton Tigers. Tyler Albino made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. North Smithfield is 4-1 when Albino posts two or more runs, but 1-4 otherwise.
Albino wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Harrison, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Harrison has snagged this season. Another was Wyatt Pullen, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
The victory got North Smithfield back to even at 5-5. As for Tiverton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
